Stuart School has purchased a group insurance policy for accidental bodily injury incurred while the student is (A) attending regular school sessions, (B) participating in or attending school-sponsored and supervised extra curricular activities, (C) practicing or competing in school sponsored and supervised interscholastic sports for Jr. High and High School students, and (D) traveling directly to and from regular school sessions and while traveling to and from school sponsored and supervised extracurricular activities and interscholastic sports while in school provided transportation. Information is available on the school website and there is information and a form to fill out if you would like to purchase additional 24hr coverage. Stuart School has nothing to do with the additional coverage and it would be a contract between the parents and Student Assurance Services.
Welcome back to school!!! School begins tomorrow at 8am. Again this year, we are faced with the reality that people will be exposed to and some will test positive with COVID-19. At this time, State Law prohibits school districts from mandating a policy requiring students to wear masks. Stuart School does not require that students wear a mask upon returning, but we do recommend that all people wear a mask inside the building as numbers of COVID cases are on the rise. We will also be temperature screening all who enter the building.
On our website and Facebook page, you can find a flow chart that will explain what to do if your child contracts the virus or is exposed to the virus. There are 3 choices you, as parents, can make regarding the length of time your child will have to quarantine. These choices range from possibly no time to 14 days from a positive test. (Vaccinated individuals may not have to quarantine. Read through the flow chart and scenarios chart on the website and Facebook page.)
If students are exposed, please contact the school, tell us what your choice for quarantine is, and we will get your child set up with work for the duration of their quarantine.
Please talk to your children about maintaining social distance and the importance of hand washing and covering a cough or sneeze. By working together, hopefully we can stop the spread of this and other viruses and be able to stay in school.
